Updated: May 6, 2020

The article "Sporting Sphere in the Liminal Sphere: "Tactics" and Facebook, talks about Public and Private Sphere. In the article, public sphere is known to be the place where discussions and debates take place concerning the different forms of public matter. It is formed by various ideas governed by public opinion. The author implies that social media can be seen as a different world, with its positive and negative side effects. Social media can be a very toxic environment and it can bring out the bad in people. This is where cyberbullying comes in, which has been a major problem over the past years. It can also bring out a side of people that would not be seen with face to face interactions. In the article,it also explains what a private sphere is. A private Sphere is known to be a place formulated from public sphere, as a result of debate over rules that is put by governing authority. Basically, private sphere is somewhat of a safer space where discussions can take place in a more trustworthy environment. In my opinion, I would much rather be in a private sphere than a public sphere. It is much safer and people would not have to deal with people on the internet harassing them over anything.
